Melissa Townsend joined Anderson & Quinn, LLC as an associate in December of 2007. She is responsible for civil litigation, insurance defense litigation, and workers compensation cases in Maryland and Washington, D.C.
A native of the Washington, D.C. area, Ms. Townsend earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Villanova University in 2004, where she met her future husband. She earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Baltimore in 2007, and was admitted to the bars in Maryland and the District of Columbia, including the Federal Courts in both jurisdictions.
Ms. Townsend is a regular volunteer for the Storybook Project, organized by the Montgomery County chapter of the Women’s Bar Association of Maryland. This program helps inmate mothers develop parenting skills and maintain a relationship with their children during their incarceration.
A sports enthusiast, Ms. Townsend has run several half marathons and developed a fondness for Philadelphia’s sports teams, particularly the Phillies and the Eagles, during her tenure at Villanova University.
