Alice Kelley Scanlon

Alice Kelley Scanlon is a member of Anderson & Quinn, LLC. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Scanlon served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable John J. Mitchell, Chief Judge, Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland and the Honorable John H. Bayly, Jr., Associate Judge, District of Columbia Superior Court. She represents clients in civil litigation matters with an emphasis on business torts, construction litigation, toxic torts, property damage, breach of contract, commercial litigation, premises liability and personal injury litigation. Ms. Scanlon handles appellate work arising out of the cases that she and other members of the firm have tried.

Born in Washington, D.C., Ms. Scanlon has been a lifelong resident of the Washington area. A graduate of Georgetown Visitation High School, she received her B.A., cum laude, in English, with a minor in Business from Villanova University in Villanova, Pennsylvania in 1988. While there, she was elected to the National Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi and Villanova University’s chapter of the English Honor Society. She earned her law degree from George Washington University in 1991. Thereafter, she was admitted to the bars in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia, including the Federal Courts in Maryland and the District of Columbia, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. Ms. Scanlon is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the Montgomery County Bar Association, the Montgomery County Women’s Bar Association and the Bar Association of the District of Columbia.

Ms. Scanlon has tried numerous cases throughout Maryland and the District of Columbia, including many appeals. At the highest appellate level in the State of Maryland, she successfully secured a favorable ruling on the interpretation of the state’s “Miss Utility Statute” which affirmed the client’s franchise rights throughout the state. Judges and other attorneys have recognized her efforts on behalf of her clients, as she has earned the designation of a Maryland and District of Columbia “Super Lawyer” as well as Martindale-Hubbell’s highest AV rating.
